The Life Technologies/NZSBMB award
This, our premier prize, is open to all New Zealand based members of New Zealand Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of at least one year's standing.
The award consists of a prize of $1600, registration and travel costs to attend the annual NZSBMB conference that year.
It is made on the basis of work published during the three years preceding the award, judged on nominations or applications in the form of a portfolio of published papers accompanied by a brief CV of the applicant. The contribution of the applicant to each of the papers should be noted.
We encourage nominations of colleagues considered worthy, but please check with the nominee first. Direct applications by people on their own behalf are also welcome.
The award winner is expected to present their work in the Life Technologies lecture at the Society's annual scientific meeting that year.
The other obligation is that the recipient writes an article based on the lecture for NZ BioScience magazine.

The NZSBMB student travel award
Conference travel awards are available to support students who have been NZSBMB members for at least one year. There are two award rounds per year, with deadlines normally falling in March and September. Members will be advised of the exact deadlines by email.
